Removing and Installing of turbine rotor of TC -MAN B&W NA 57
Tools Required
Silencer or air intake casing, compressor casing and gas admission casing are removed. Impeller taken off and complete locating bearing removed.

- Protection sleeve
- Bracket
- Hexagonal nut
- Clamp sleeve
- Rope with shackle
- Open-end wrench
Silencer or air intake casing, compressor casing and gas admission casing are removed. Impeller taken off and complete locating bearing removed.
SEQUENCE OF OPERATION
Removing
- Fit the protection sleeves and secure clamping sleeve in rotor shaft at turbine end.
- Attached bracket with hexagonal nuts to bearing casing on compressor end (bracket serves as a guide).
- Push rotor hand towards plain bearing far enough to permit ropes to be applied for supporting it.
- Extract turbine rotor without skewing it to prevent bearing damage.
Installing
- Fit protection sleeves and secure clamping sleeve on rotor shaft at turbine end.
- Attached bracket with hexagonal nuts to bearing casing in compressor and (bracket serves as a guide).
- Cautiously insert turbine rotor , suspended by rope, in axial direction, using care not to damage bearing labyrinth seals. Rotor with fitted protection sleeve must be supported by bracket.
- Remove rope and push rotor full home.
