Jacket Water Cooling System
Cooling of engines is achieved by circulating a cooling liquid around internal passages within the engine. The cooling liquid is thus heated up and is in turn cooled by a water circulated cooler. Without adequate cooling certain parts of the engine which are exposed to very high temperatures, as a result of burning fuel, would soon fail. Jacket water cooling system used to maintain the engine temperature at desirable limit.

· 3-way valve
· Heat Exchanger
· Jacket Water Circulating Pump
· Raw Water Circulating Pump

System Description
The cooling water header line is fitted on the exhaust side of the engine. From it the supply line leads to the supporting ring of each cylinder. In the supporting ring the water led upwards around the upper section of the cylinder liner. The water flow through the bores from the supporting ring and into the cooling chamber of the cylinder head, surrounding the lower section of the injector and flows out at the top of the cylinder head. Each cylinder has it’s own discharge pipe through which the water flows to manifold which is located parallel to the header pipe. Jacket water get cooled in plate type heat exchanger by exchanging heat with raw water. Raw water and jacket water circulation pump used to circulate the water.
