Exhaust valve damaged Problem for Diesel Engine
General Damage
- Exhaust valves 'O' ring damage occur
- Roto cap stacked
- Tiny gap between valve and valve seat
- High exhaust gas temperature
- Failure of cooling system
- Valve get corrosion by friction
Maintenance Work
- Change the 'O' rings
- Use high temperature resistant grease around 'O' rings
- Do Lapping operation in valve and valve seat interface surface until they adjusted correctly
- Control the exhaust gas temperature
- Valve get bended
- Valve get broken
- Some parts of the valve melt down
Possible Causes
- Engine runs long time with high exhaust gas temperature
- Failure of cooling system
- Auto ignition take place in different times
- The material of exhaust valve is not perfect(can't withstand long time in high temperature)
Valve bended |
- Change the valve
- Control the exhaust gas temperature
- Use a valve constructed with proper composition of metals
