Charged Air Cooling System

Charge air cooling system used to keep the charge air temperature in tolerable limit(40-60 degree Celsius).Air compressed in compressor(turbocharger) have temperature higher than the required value. Lower temp of air will make it (air) dense which will contain good amount of oxygen and increase the efficiency of the engine because it will make complete combustion of fuel.

Description
Charge air cooler has its own cooling circuit. Water enters and leaves in this circuit by inlet and outlet line. Water enters through the tube of intercooler and charge air passing through the fins and heat transfer take place. Venting line provided in order to vent and drain the circuit.Condenset water can collect through cooler line under intercooler housing. The water leaving intercooler passes through a 3-way valve to the plate type heat exchanger. Raw water circulates to its own circuit to cool charge air. Charge air cooling water and raw water pump used in the cooling circuit.
